Gonzalez is/was a "stoner rock" band from....you guessed it......Atlanta.??? Never understood the meaning of the name, after all there's nobody in the band named Gonzalez, and they don't sound anything like you'd expect from a band named Gonzalez. (Perhaps that's where the "stoner'" moniker comes into play.) They do sound, however, like a straight forward, kick ass rock and roll band that likes to play hard and fast.

I will borrow the following description from another website:https://creativeloafing.com/content-165081-Not-so-speedy-Gonzalez
Voisin, lead guitarist Allan Mozinta, bassist Ron Cook and drummer Kevin Watford straddle the line between Black Sabbath and Black Flag while following in a long line of blistering boogie bands from Uriah Heap to Soundgarden to Fu Manchu to Queens of the Stone Age.

The band gets extra credit points from me for one of the weirdest mash-ups of I've heard, the song 'Call Me To The Grave' off their self-titled debut. This tune is a combination of sabbath's Children of the Grave and Blondie's Call Me. It doesn't sound like it should work, but believe me it does! It is also unclear as to whether Barn Anj and Gomer sang on the tune Mt. Pilot,

ROBSCURITIES UPDATE: As to the name of the band:
"I just saw 'Gonzalez' on a windshield and thought it was a great band name," says guitarist/singer Joe Voisin. "We like knowing at least one person's out [there] pushing for us."
