Liege Lord began in 1982 as a Judas Priest cover band aptly named DECIEVER, morphing into Liege Lord in 1984.  Their debut album, "Freedom's Rise" was released in 1985 in the US on the Ironworks label, but in typical Robscurities and Spinal Tap fashion  its release in America was not advertised, distribution was non-existent at best and the album came dressed in plain old black and white packaging. The Black Dragon European version featured a high class fantasy artwork sleeve and proper representation, and as a result  scored the band acclaim amongst the European Metal press.  Nevertheless,  Black Dragon dropped the band anyways!  Step in Metal Blade, who then signed the band and released their second album, Burn To My Touch in 1987.  This album was produced by Joe Bouchard of BLUE OYSTER CULT fame, and featured a new guitarist named Paul Nelson, who was instructed by none other than STEVE VAI.  In 1988 Liege Lord released their final album, Master Control with new vocalist Bruce Dickinson.  No, actually the new vocalist was Joseph Comeau, who sounds just like Bruce Dickinson!  (Except on the Rainbow Cover of Kill The King)
