In their quest to find the most disgusting name they could think of (and get away with) former Rebel Rousers vocalist Cliff Bennett and his manager decided on Toe Fat (gross like totally) who made two albums of good old hard rock n roll at the beginning of the decade.

Despite the name Toe Fat’s music wasn’t gross although I think Toe Jam!... woulda been a good name as they Jam!.. especially on the debut that featured the Spooky Tooth-ish (Mike Harrison) vocals of Bennett and the surprisingly hard - ass guitar playing from none other than Ken Hensley, keyboard wizard of Uriah Heep fame who along with fellow Heeper Lee Kerslake(drums) and future Jethro Tull bassist John Glascock starred on the debut!

If you’re a Uriah Heep fan (which I am!) don’t expect any keyboard histrionics as Hensley plays guitar, and not badly I might add, kinda like an early 70’s version of Dave Grohl in a sense. He ain’t no Clapton or whatnot but his tone and sheer volume make this a fun listen, if you like blues based, loud, hard, ass shakin’, fist pumpin’ rock n fu*kin roll this is for you, just make sure you don’t cut your toes trimmin’ the fat!

ACTUAL REVIEWS BY REAL PEOPLE OF TOE FAT

By Art Teeste former employee of Hipgnosis  The 'sheep' redesign cover was actually the second choice of the band.  The preferred choice consisted of a monkey, a prostitute, and a wedge of cheese.  The record company was not impressed.
