If you like Blitzkrieg, you'll love Avenger, since they were formed by 3 former members of the band.  Their sound , according to their drummer/founder Gary Young:  “Going right back to the roots its quite obvious I think, Iron Maiden which always gets mentioned, Thin Lizzy, Wishbone Ash, all very guitar orientated very English sounding stuff, then as we progressed quite a big chunk of NWOBHM, Raven, Fist etc and USA thrash such as Metallica in their early days and Anthrax.”  Can't say I disagree with his assessment.

ACTUAL ONLINE REVIEW FROM AMAZON.COM !

October 3, 2003

This anthology is not by the punk group The Avengers; it is by a hair metal band called Avenger. Amazon has mis-labeled this disc. DO NOT make the same mistake I made. You might think that one little "s" can't make that big of a difference, but the two bands in question are completely different. Buyer BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!!!

No need to make up a joke here.....
