After “Shadows Of The Night” singer Phil Brown was replaced by Bill Mitchel with whom Dark Heart wrote and record demos for most of another album. Some known tracks are: ‘Old Flame’, ‘Chase The Dawn’, ‘Breakdown’ and ‘Fools Paradise’. Unfortunately the band folded after a while.

Dark Heart were born out of the ashes that was Tokyo Rose, who recorded four tracks on Guardian Record’s 1983 compilation album entitled Pure Overkill, namely  'Lost In The Heat', 'Give Me Back My Heart', 'When The Lights Go Down' and 'Victim Of Love'.  Of course, there was another NWOBHM band named Tokyo Rose recording at the same time, who hailed from Newcastle (as opposed to Durham) and released the 7″ ‘Dry Your Eyes’ also on Guardian Records, also issued the same year as the aforementioned compilation.  Whew!  Obviously a name change was in order in this case.  In any event, the resulting album the band produced, Shadows Of The Night, is an enjoyable album, full of catchy harmonies and tasteful riffs (For example the title track, Shout It Out, and Turn Of The Tide).  Sure, there are better NWOBHM albums out there, but you can't go wrong with this one.
