Strider were a UK blues/rock band that was initially formed by guitarist Gary Grainger, keyboardist and lead vocalist Ian Kewley, bassist Lee Hunter (real name; Strzelczyk) and drummer Jimmy Hawkins. Early on the band supported such heavy weights as Humble Pie, Status Quo and Deep Purple. Their debut album, ''Exposed", was released in 1973, and it featured Babe Ruth's Jennie Haan on backing vocals (their second album did as well). That second album, Misunderstood, featured new lead vocalist Rob Elliott in place of Ian Kewley and Tony Brock in place of Jimmy Hawkins on drums. Internal squabbles eventually forced the band to fold in 1974, exacerbated by the efforts of Rod Stewart to lure Grainger away from the band., which he ultimately did. Tony Brock moved on to join the The Babys.
Apparently they toured with these bands as well.
