The land down under has many things to offer, dingoes, kangaroos, koalas, great people, Ayers Rock.... and speaking of rock, great bands such as ACDC, Southern Cross, The Angels among many others. But wait, there ain’t no buffaloes in Australia right!?.. Ah yes we do have Buffalo, one of the 70’s great unheralded and awesome (Aussie!) bands.
Formed in 1971 by ex-Head vocalist Dave Tice and fellow headers guitar master John Baxter, Peter Wells on bass and drummer Paul Balbi. Alan Milano, who shared lead vocals left after the debut Dead Forever and several more personnel changes occurred but the music on their first three albums (Dead Forever, Volcanic Rock, Only Want You For Your Body) remained the same…
And what do I mean by “the same”? Raw, loud, in your face, hardass blues based rock bordering on metal at times. Tunes like Shylock off Volcanic Rock hit the listener in the face with a granite filled boomerang then come back to smack you again!
