Those of us who were born early enough to remember vinyl (Oh sh*t it’s makin’ a comeback, how cool!) recall the days when sometimes an album cover looked so badass we bought the album for its artwork without knowing what it even sounded like, would it be rockin’ or horsesh*t?   Yes it was a crapshoot, sometimes the music just didn’t seem to fit the cover, and that is the case with the band Dust.  However, in this case, that’s not necessarily a bad thing.  Although the covers look like offerings from the heaviest of bands, their music can best be described as hard rock.  A slight distinction I know, but that’s the way I see it.

Once very obscure, maybe not so much now, the band featured the fine vocals and rippin’ guitar of Richie Wise.  On bass was Kenny Aaronson, a guy who has played with everyone on the face of the earth!... well not everyone, but Sammy Hagar and Rick Derringer are a just a few.  Finally, on drums was Marc Bell (who went on to become Marky Ramone) of The Ramones! The first record (and some the second) have some real rockin’ moments especially on tunes like Chasin’ Ladies, Love Me Hard and the sabbathy From A Dry Camel, these guys could play! And these guys jam!..If you like good ole fashion  blues based hard rock, put this in your pipe and smoke it!... Enjoy!
