80's Heavy metal band Warlord, (Not to be confused with Warlord from San Diego or the metallic hardcore band Warlord from Portland, Oregon) caught the attention of Metal Blade records, who had just issued the highly influential Metal Massacre album. As a result, the band managed to secure spots on both Metal Massacre II and Metal Massacre III ("Lucifer's Hammer" on 1982's Metal Massacre II and "Mrs. Victoria" on 1983's Metal Massacre III). Interestingly, Warlord chose to use pseudonyms for themselves such as 'Destroyer' (Tsamis), 'Thunderchild' (Zonder), 'Damien King' (vocalist Jack Rucker), and 'Sentinel' (keyboardist Diane Kornarens).
