Wow - Jimi Hendrix meets Rare Earth!.. Not quite, but in 1972 Jimi’s bassist Noel Redding hooked up with Rare Earth guitarist Rod Richards and drummer Leslie Sampson to make their only album - the self titled Road.
As is the case with a lot of the rock of it’s time, the music is blues based and hard, which of course, I LOVE! Hendrix-y in parts, plenty of wah wah, crunchy chords, fat (phat) leads and Richards and Redding providing adequate vocals, they all are listed as vocalists but who cares, they are good enough for these ears. If you like it loud my suggestion is, as always, turn it to eleven!
