Great googly moogly, Germany’s Night Sun produced one helluva album in ’72 titled Mournin’ but I’m not mourning this slab of progressive, hard, vicious, brain scattering piece of rock and roll genius.  Think of Lucifer’s Friend on stove top crank and absinthe and you get the basic idea; no blues here, just raw aggressive metallic raunch n roll!

Bruno Schaab’s Lawton-like vocs and Walter Kirchgessner’s Blackmore-ish guitar will turn your brains (and ears) to mush.  Of Course let’s not forget the over the top playing of keyboard meister Knut Rossler and skin pounder Ulrich Staudt. This album is definitely ahead of it’s time, sounding more metal than rock.  It’s a crying shame they only had this one release! Kirchgessner went on to play cello and classical music of all things - oh well. WARNING: The playing of this record may cause bleeding of the ears and drain bamage!

Absolutely true fact:

I was in a heavy metal band "Cirith Ungol" for 22 years and these guys were one of my favorite bands and influences. I would highly reccommend this for any fan of heavy metal or hard rock.
