Black Rose were an NWOBHM band from Teesside in the north east of England. They called themselves ICE for about 4 years before ultimately settling on the name Black Rose. The band went through various line-up changes over the years while releasing several EP's, demos and an album of classic NWOBHM called Boys Will Be Boys (1984), which contained their hardest and best tune, in my opinion, Knocked Out. And then...Their second album, Walk It How You Talk It, was issued in 1986. Unfortunately, Walk It How You Talk It saw the band regressing into more melodic radio-friendly fare (aka getting commercial) which gained them some new fans but alienated most of the old ones. To show just how 'poppy' they became, Walk It How You Talk It was picked up by AJK, a subsidiary of K-tel!
