Mournblade formed at the tail end of NWOBHM movement (1983) and got their name from a sword which appears in Michael Moorcock’s novels. According to the band, Michael Moorcock personally granted permission to Dunken Mullett and Rich Jones for the use of the name.  Mournblade was one of the most 'active' bands while on stage, implementing a show complete with numerous costume changes (one show reportedly had 14 of them) assorted props, LED's and sharks with frickin' laser beams.

Okay, maybe just regular old lasers.

Actual picture of D.J. Jack McCoy when he learned that Mournblade legally had rights to the name, thus ruining the case against the band.
