LADY OF MARS WAS INCLUDED ON THE METAL FOR MUTHAS VOL 2 ALBUM

Yet another one and done NWOBHM band from Birmingham, Dark Star recorded this little gem in 1981 (Tracks 9-15 are bonus tracks from demos).  Even though I referred to them as "yet another" one and done band, their sound elevated them above a lot of the mediocrity that was languishing in the NWOBHM pool at the time.  Great riffs, some nice vocal harmonies, and killer guitar work resulted in a sound somewhere between a harder edge Praying Mantis and ??????  Hard for me to pinpoint.  I've read everything from Saxon To Sabbath.  Don't agree with the Sabbath part, but a lighter Saxon, maybe.  Killer tunes include Kaptain America, Louisa, and Lady Of Mars,

Crosby, Stills & Nash loved Dark Star so much they named their song 'Dark Star' after the NWOBHM band.
