Alias Mangler, a fearsome foursome from High Point NC, entered a Battle of Bands contest at Dorton Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina (198?), and not surprisingly won 1st prize.  (32 bands in total from all across the state). Their award for winning this event included studio time at CMC Studos in Zebulon, North Carolina and pressing of 500 copies their subsequent album Bite the Metal. In addition to the vinyls produced, 500 cassettes were also released, which sold very rapidly. They recorded another, until the 2018 reissue, studio session in 1987, played their last show in 1988, and sadly disbanded in 1991.
