Aragorn was one of the 'punkier' sounding bands of the NWOBHM era. Founded in 1978, and originally consisting of vocalist Chris Dunne, guitarist Jon Hull, bass player Dale Lee and drummer Chris Dadson, the band's seminal song 'Black Ice' was one of Neat's first offerings. The band added second guitarist Andy Halliwell and bassist Chris White in early 1981, and toured the NWOBHM circuit supporting the likes of Saxon, Trust, White Spirit, Iron Maiden, Spider and Angel Witch. Aragorn folded in April of 1983, just after completing the recordings for their debut album. Naturally, that album was never 'officially released' but are included on the anthology CD.
Interesting fact: The majority of the tracks on Noonday: The Aragorn Anthology were remastered from a fan's existing cassette copy!
These guys kicked A$$!
