Picture was one of the first Dutch heavy metal bands. Although formed in 1979, Robscurities is listing them as an eighties band, just to annoy you and make things generally irritating. Early on they toured in the Netherlands, Germany and Italy, supporting such headliners as AC/DC, Saxon and Ted Nugent. Riding this success the band recorded their first 2 albums, but the band was unhappy with the sound of the recordings (they felt the studio failed to properly capture the band's sound. They sound pretty good to me!) By the time they got around to recording their 3rd album, 'Diamond Dreamer', they had recruited a new singer, the phenomenal Shmoulik Avigal, (who would later sing with The Rods and Jack Starr's Guardians of the Flame) and were finally able to produce the sound and quality on vinyl that they had been striving for. This was most likely due to the fact that this record was produced by Pete Hunton, who was in charge of producing such masterful albums as Saxon's Wheel Of Steel, Strong Arm Of The Law, and Witchfinder General's Death Penalty. If you like hard rock in the vein of early Whitesnake mixed with a pinch of Accept or early Riot, then you will truly enjoy this album.
