Magnitude 9 was a band that mixed elements of Progressive, classic, and power metal into a sound reminiscent at times of Queensryche, Fates Warning and even the mighty Iron Maiden.  In fact, on this album, Reality In Focus, the band performs a spot on version of Maiden's Flight of Icarus.  Guitarist Rob Johnson lets out some impressive solos on this disc, but the keyboards, in my opinion, are overdone and unnecessary at times.  

An interesting sidenote is that guitarist Rob Johnson was introduced to vocalist Corey Brown by fellow guitarist David Chastain.  OK, maybe not THAT interesting, but cool nonetheless.
