American Eagle began as Surpise Package, a 60's contemporary rock band from the greater Seattle area. They changed their name after replacing organist Mike Rogers with Gene Hubbard, and recorded the American Eagle album in 1970. The album contains some classic 70's sounding Vanilla Fudge-esque rock, but unfortunately there is not enough of it. The cover of 'Nights (sic) In White Satin' pales in comparison to the original.
