THUNDER and ROSES was a power-trio from Philly in the 60's tradition of Cream or the Jimi Hendrix Experience, who released their sole album, King Of The Black Sunrise, in 1969.

the album featured the song “White Lace and Strange”, which was later covered by Nirvana, as well as a cover version of Hendrix's Red House.  In a perplexing move, their record label released the song Country Life as a single.  The song is pure trash!  It had to be a joke - but the label didn't get it obviously!

Even more perplexing....

After Thunder & Roses split, guitar player Chris Bond had a successful career as producer, songwriter, arranger and session musician, working closely with Daryl Hall & John Oates of all people!  Later in his life, Chris transitioned from male to female and changed her name to Christa.
